Interview with Ingo Saake from the BILSTEIN Service Center S&S Suspensão e Soluções in São Paulo

S&S Suspensão e Soluções Ltda., based in São Paulo, is a Brazilian company specializing in suspension and chassis solutions. As an official BILSTEIN Service Center, the company offers suitable products for sports cars, road vehicles, off-road applications and motorsport. In this interview, engineer Ingo Saake explains why the team at S&S Suspensão e Soluções relies on BILSTEIN products.

1. How would you describe BILSTEIN in one sentence – from a workshop professional’s perspective?

With BILSTEIN, everything simply fits: unpack, install, enjoy.

2. Why would you recommend BILSTEIN products to other workshops?

The combination of high manufacturing quality and excellent driving characteristics is convincing in everyday use. The monotube technology, in particular, is a real advantage because it offers serviceability options. This creates customer loyalty and makes the product more sustainable.

3. What do you appreciate most about the quality of BILSTEIN aftermarket products?

Clearly the damper tuning. It is simply very good. In addition, the overall build quality is extremely clean and precise.

4. How do your customers experience BILSTEIN products once they are installed?

For our customers, the driving experience is the key factor, especially for those who deliberately chose not to go with an OEM product. The feedback we receive is consistently positive.

5. From your point of view, what sets BILSTEIN apart from other aftermarket manufacturers?

The damper tuning is at a very high level. In addition, from our perspective as a service center, there is a decisive factor: BILSTEIN deliberately focuses on close customer relationships through small, agile service center operations.

6. How important is it for you that all BILSTEIN products undergo extensive test programs and are intensively tested in BILSTEIN’s own aftermarket road testing, the BILSTEIN Fahrversuch?

Road testing is the clear differentiating factor for us. Only in this way can the right set-up be found for each product category. Without road testing, BILSTEIN would not be BILSTEIN.
